The D System Tanks Controllers Sizing Warranty Downloads

1. Determine the demand of the sprinkler system in gallons and psi at the discharge of the pump by the use of hydraulic calculations. (example: 30 gpm @ 40 psi required)

2. Tank size -- multiply the gallons required by the duration in minutes required. (NFPA 13D 10 minutes, NFPA 13R 30 minutes) Tanks may have to be manifolded together to obtain longer duration. (example: 30 gpm x 10 minutes = 300 gallon tank)

3. Pump size -- select pump from psi/gallon chart. (example: 40 psi @ 30 gpm required = 1.5 hp pump)

4. Determine what electrical power is available. 115 or 230 volt single phase motors are in stock.

5. Select type of controller. Basic, Standard or Residential. Click here to learn more about our controllers.
